Misc. Catch Up
I just downloaded over 200 pictures from my camera so I quickly chose a few favorites and I'm now playing catch up. So this is just a mix of cute pictures I liked.
Carlie's new dress. She wasn't very happy that day....9:00 church was killing her. But she still looked cute despite the sad face.
Princess Sleeping Beauty....she makes regular appearances at our house. Today she was about to go to the store to get some "ingredients"
Christmas Eve 2010
I love Christmas Eve. I think it is all the excitement and anticipation that is in the air with all the kids around.....its so contagious. This year we celebrated Christmas Eve at my mom's house like always. She has a way of making Christmas magical and it is always a favorite memory of mine. We had delicious food, we watched a movie called "Small One" and then opened presents. We all had a great time and are so thankful to my mom for putting in all that work to make our Christmas extra special!
We open presents youngest to oldest so Carlie was first! Somehow my girls lost their shirts by this time....I'm not sure how that happened.
She got a new Sunday dress from Grandma!
Sadie's turn
This was BY FAR the biggest hit of Christmas. She had been eyeing this vanity since the JCPenney toy catalog came to our house in October! She carried that thing everywhere and just stared at this vanity non-stop. I think she thought Santa was bringing it to her so she was a bit surprised that Grandma knew she wanted it. To say she LOVED it is an understatement.
Christmas 2010
Christmas Day was so nice this year. It was fun having the excitement of the girls in the house, and it was fun seeing Sadie more aware of the festivities and Carlie just following along. Santa did make it this year and I think he dropped every princess thing he owns at our house...it was a princess explosion at our house, but we had a ton of fun. It was also the most relaxing Christmas Day I've had in a long time.....I loved it!

Family Picture Day is a happy day...

Here is the family photo for 2010. Now, I used to think I was a pretty nice guy but I've learned that is not the case now a days. Nat setup this photo session thingy so that we could get a family photo. I immediately had a REEEEEEEEAAALLY BAD feeling about this expedition. Not hard to have such a feeling when you calculate into the equation the fact that a 1 year old and a 3 year old are to participate in such an activity. So we go through the parental manipulation and decoy drills as to not draw too much attention to the fact that we are going to take pictures so the 3 year old will be cooperative and just praying that the 1 year old will follow. So we get to the studio and as soon....and I'm talking as soon as we walk in the studio the 3 year old (Sadie) flips like a light switch and doesn't want to do ANYTHING. Doesn't matter what you do, how you dance, what you attempt to bribe her with....she's not having it. Now, Carlie, the 1 year old was just as happy and content as can be and was a bit of a show off in front of the camera but Sadie was the COMPLETE opposite. Needless to say, as we attempted to persuade Sadie to partake in the family photo goodness morphed more and more into a demonic little critter. With such lack of cooperation Mom began to melt down which ended in Dad saying ENOUGH and taking the whole family and leaving thus leading to the resolution that no family photos will be attempted until the kids are 18. Well, needless to say we return to the studio, the clouds parted, and the miracle occurred which you see before your eyes. Can't wait til next year.
NAT'S SIDE OF THE STORY....
Yes, it is true.....this day was awful. Is it possible that a couple has ended up in divorce over family pictures? Maybe we'll be the first. Mike's side was accurate for the most part. What I want to clarify is....yes I did have a meltdown and Mike didn't say "enough" he YELLED "ENOUGH!!!!" in front of the Fotogenix photographer. Mike has never yelled at me before, this was the first time and hopefully the last. I'm so glad he chose to do it in public. HAHAHA! We did leave much to mom's dismay, you see, we had only been there 10 minutes. Mike was done after 10 minutes of trying to get Sadie to cooperate, I still had some time in me before I totally lost it. So as we were leaving I was BAWLING....total ugly cry.....and saying mean things to Mike. I just wanted..and I quote..."a damn family picture!" After explaining to Mike that this was everyone's Christmas present and he was now on his own to figure out presents for everyone...then and only then did he turn around and decide to give it another go. Funny. You see, and I think all mom's will relate....the dad just has to show up for the picture, the mom on the other hand has to arrange the picture, create the wardrobe for the picture, get everyone's hair done and ready for the picture etc. Thus the frustration that he only gave it a go for 10 minutes. But...in the end we did return, I gave Sadie a quarter and she was fine. You might see red puffy eyes on me and Sadie but all in all it turned out fine in the end. Mike and I are still married but who knows when we will EVER do a family photo again. :)
