Easter 2011

We had a really nice Easter this year. It was really low key and rather relaxing...well...it was for me, I had minor surgery on my leg the Friday before and was pretty lazy all weekend. A big thanks to Mike for holding down the household while I recovered. On Saturday we had our traditional "picnic" and egg hunt. The weather ruined our picnic so we ended up inside at Tami's house, but still had a lot of fun eating good food and enjoying each other's company. The girls were in heaven! After the egg hunt, they had fun going through their eggs and seeing what treasures were in store for them.
On Sunday, it was Stake Conference so we stayed home since I was still on light duty. I cooked a ham and had my mom over for dinner. We enjoyed good food again followed by a lovely tea party with the girls. It was a lot of fun, despite the girls being sick, I think they had a pretty good day!

What did I get!

Poo Poo Fairy!

You've heard of the Tooth Fairy....but have you ever heard of the Poo Poo Fairy? Probably not. I think HE only made an appearance at our house. You see, potty training was no small task at our house. I literally started last June and we JUST accomplished it last month after trying and trying and trying! Sadie got the pee thing down rather quickly but after trying every tactic in the book we couldn't get her to poop on the potty so Mike decided to invent the Poo Poo fairy. If Sadie could consistently go poo poo on the potty the Poo Poo Fairy would bring her the coveted Princess Bike! Well it worked! So after writing the Poo Poo Fairy a letter and leaving him his favorite treat (Pepsi and cookies) he came! What a grand event this was....no one is more happy about this accomplishment than mom - this was hands down, the hardest thing she has ever done.

All decked out! Now on to even more tasks...learning how to pedal and brake. The fun never ends!
The Poo Poo Fairy thought Carlie might feel left out so she got a bike of her own. Sadie didn't really like this idea! Carlie seems to benefit from all of her accomplishments. The joys of being the youngest I guess.

Coloring!

My girls LOVE to color! I think they get it from me because I loved to color when I was little. Nothing was better than getting a new coloring book and a new box of crayons. Sadie is becoming quite good at it too - and it's fun to see how her pictures progress as she gets older. Carlie just loves mimicking her sister so as long as she's coloring...Carlie will be too.

If you look closely you can see a rainbow and REALLY big flowers under it.

Cookies with Mom

One Sunday we found ourselves spending the afternoon making cookies. The girls got to wear the cute aprons our babysitter Courtney made for them! Although mommy prefers making cookies alone, they were a lot of "help" and we had a lot of fun....especially enjoying them after!
